A ceiling surface that also insulates.
Isoboard ceiling boards are rigid extruded polystyrene (XPS) boards used in specified insulated ceiling systems. The board can remain visible as the finished ceiling surface, rather than being hidden above a separate plasterboard lining. This makes the thickness, visible grooves and direction of the boards part of the room design as well as the material order.

Isoboard ceiling boards can create a regular lined finish across a room or sit within exposed roof timbers. Grooved finishes, edge details and board direction change how the ceiling reads. Ask to confirm the exact profile and whether any painting or decorative finishing is included. A sample is useful when matching an existing ceiling.Choose thickness for the roof design.
A thicker XPS board offers more thermal resistance within the same product range. It also changes the depth available around beams, cornices and other junctions. Discuss the existing roof, any insulation already fitted and the intended ceiling detail before choosing Isoboard ceiling boards on thickness alone. Board quantities are only one part of the ceiling. The substrate, supporting members, fixing arrangement, perimeter finish and penetrations must suit the manufacturer’s system. Downlights, wiring and heat-producing fittings need suitable clearances and detailing. XPS is combustible; it must not be treated as a fireproof ceiling material.Keep the finish separate from a leak repair.
XPS resists moisture uptake, but that does not make a leaking roof acceptable. Resolve water ingress and inspect the structure before fitting a new ceiling. The intended use of the room, ventilation and any existing dampness should be discussed when ordering Isoboard ceiling boards for a renovation.
